I found my error with the irons. Didnt cock wrist, and bad grip. I went from hitting 1-2 greens to 6-9 greens. I am hitting it really solid, but I because i always hit irons left and right all i did was aim straight, so i have no idea how to aim.

BTW anyone know how to save a video on youtube to be opened up in another program?

I should also mention im a 9-13 hc at a 6800 yard course.

@jvallstar36 Have you ever had your lie angles fit to your swing before? That could be part of the problem with the irons.

Well when I hit the ball straight or light draw, I can hit driver 295-310 consistantly. 3 wood 255-270 consistantly, PW 150 and rest of irons go 10 yards up per club. Problem is consistancy lol. My problem is to big of draws with woods, and push fades with irons. The draws are created by a flat swing and not pressing arms out to ball, and push by getting right arm stuck because I sway big time on the downswing. Any tips?

@kentuckydrb I just recently cured a hook by opening the club slightly, so when you are hooking after turning your wrists it means you must be turning back too much before impact… right?

Angled Hinge Action according to “The Golfing Machine”. You’ll lose distance… but it may work

Hahahahaha! The cock is held as along as possible………released……. that’s pure gold right there

I was taught to turn my wrist when I took golf lesson’s when I was 17 and I’ve had a on and off hook ever since. It is very difficult to perfect that type of swing.

@times0523 this guy wishes he worked with tiger

Although his analogy using loaf of bread makes sense, only way to hit a pure shot is to make a smooth roll using both your wrist, arm and shoulder and your lower body. When you are making your swing in an ideal swing plane the only time you are making a square contact with the ball should for a splits of a second.

I try to hold my cock as long as I can as well.

This guy knows the action in the swing but fails to realize it’s the only way to do it for a fluid, relaxed, effortless, whipping swing. His demonstration of Tiger’s swing is spot on, and Tiger knows it too.

@TheMrAlwaysRight – Actually, I don’t. :-p Golf and life are a lifelong learning experience and I’m always open to refining how I look at things.

the cock should be held as long as possible before releasing it

Tiger isnt the best player 10 years and counting for no reason… I don’t think you should criticize someone who is obviousely wayyy better that you think you are!

This is a good analysis of club swing and deviation during the swing and something to think about if u r experiencing hook and excessive spin to the right.. Thx, helped me.

next time you show a video, you might acutally demonstrate what you are talking about, you know what they say, those who cant do teach !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. Anonymous Says:

“if i were to teach tiger” well you aint. i cant believe the crap out there in information. TAKE 100 GOLFERS AND YOU WILL HAVE 100 DIFFERENT SWING PATHS/PATTERNS. a proper player will say 1 day 2my triceps are tight- so i decrease the down swing speed, forearms are sensitive today- so i create more flick, hips are loose today, so i increase my stance put foot further back and smack it. remember..1 DIMENSION LEARNING= 1 DIMENSIONAL PLAY. IM A PRO -SO I KNOW

In the end it’s all about Swing Path, Clubface, and having as Less Moving Parts as you can without losing power.

Why don’t they ever get it, Jaacob?

I practice Joe Dante’s swing with a somewhat strong grip too Jaacob. I have quite flexible wrists, so I can handle the follow through :) The only thing I don’t overdo in the Joe Dante swing is the exaggerated forward press, and the early completed set of the club. it’s there, but not as much. I think Dante & Shauger is very similar in many important parts of the swing & Joe had the only real scientific swing imo, and I’ve read up & practiced them all! No small feat.
