Palm Springs – good place to try golf for beginners?

I am going to Palm Springs for the Christmas to be at some warm place and to go to Big Bear lake, however i want to try out Golf once .. whats the best place to get some cheap deals and to rent the equipment, haven't tried playing before and so wouldn't want to spend a lot to see that i don't like it much.

    The best thing to do would be to call a couple of places. You'll need a lesson since you've never played before. Have fun!
